What we do

Practical hardware for demanding environments.

ESSIMPLEX is a hardware company focused on custom design and practical industrial products. We take a field problem, design the device that solves it, and ship it ready to install.

  • Custom design

Hardware engineered around a specific field problem, from requirements to a working device.

  • Industrial products

Practical devices built for demanding environments, starting with datacenter construction.

  • Field-ready deployment

Units are configured on the bench and shipped ready for the install crew.

  • Honest specifications

We publish what the device does. Preliminary parameters are labeled as preliminary.

Nody Bot

Not dead yet.

Battery-powered Ethernet phone-home for datacenter construction. It hangs on the far end of a cable run and wakes on a schedule to prove the drop is still alive, through months of cabling, without PoE and without staying pingable.

  • Outbound heartbeat only. Not ICMP-pingable; no always-on listener on an unfinished network.
  • LiPo battery, not PoE. Works at the far end before power distribution is ready.
  • Provisioned over USB with etctl. Set up on the bench, then shipped to the install crew.

  2. Plant network DHCP address
  3. Your collector IPv4 address, no DNS

Nody Bot check-in path: the device at the far end of the cable run gets a DHCP address on the plant network and POSTs a JSON heartbeat to your collector at an IPv4 address, waits for HTTP 2xx, then sleeps.

How Nody Bot works

One check-in cycle, repeated for the life of the build.

Built for multi-month cable plant builds, not always-on monitoring.

See the full sequence
  1. Wake

A timer fires about every 15 minutes.

  2. DHCP

Wired Ethernet comes up and gets an address.

  3. POST

A JSON heartbeat goes to /et/phone-home.

  4. 2xx

It waits for HTTP 2xx: 8 s timeout, up to 3 tries.

  5. Sleep

Back to deep sleep. Nothing listens in between.

Company

A focused hardware company for practical industrial products.

Nody Bot is our first product, built for datacenter construction teams.

We keep claims honest. This site describes the product surface: the website and the device. Collector and operations software ships separately. Nody Bot is a product name, not the company.
